Game Days:

• Sunday League (45+) – Doubleheaders, fresh air, and a chance to relive your glory days.

• Wednesday League (60+) – The perfect midweek excuse to swing a bat instead of a remote.

📅 Important Info:

• Spring/Summer rosters form in February & March (register early!).

• Fall rosters close in August/September, but latecomers can still join the player pool.

• Games start at 9:30 AM (except Sunday games, which shift to 9:00 AM in warmer months).

The South Jersey Senior Softball League is looking for NEW PLAYERS, to play in their Gold (45-59), Platinum (60-69) and Diamond (70 and above) Sunday league divisions and/or Wednesday league (60+). By vote in November 2021, all playters age 62+ must move up to the Platinum Division, and all players72+ must move to the Diamond Division. Age requirement is also defined by turning the proper age by Dec. 31 of that calendar year. If interesting in playing, please register early to make it on a roster. Spring/summer rosters are formed in February through end of March. Fall rosters completed end of August, early September. Players can continue to register during the season but may have to play out of the pool until a roster opens up. 

South Jersey Senior Softball has two different leagues, one on Wednesday mornings, and one on Sunday mornings. Double-headers are played on both Wednesday mornings and Sunday mornings, starting in early April, usually ending late July with playoffs in August. The Wednesday teams are made up of players from all three of the above-listed divisions, ages 60 years and over, as well as some guys who only play on Wednesdays. There is also a fall league on Sundays and Wednesdays, and new players can play in the spring/summer, just the fall, or both seasons. The fall league runs from early September to late October/early November. 

One major difference between SJSSL and many other senior leagues in NJ is the opportunity to swing senior softball bats. SJSSL also plays with a safety screen for the pitcher and an additional infielder (eleven in the field) up the middle. Another difference from many senior leagues is we open up earlier than other leagues to players ages 45 and up. Given the league's emphasis of promoting senior play, all players will play at least half the game in the field and all players bat in the lineup every game they attend. The pitch arc is 6-12 feet since the league follows SSUSA rules except for those noted on this website. The league holds a draft of new players each year in order to place players on teams to try and create team play parity. 

Consideration can be given to those players driving together and allow for them to play on the same team.

All Sunday League games start at 9:30am through April, at which time the games will revert to a 9:00am start time.

The Wednesday League games always start at 9:30am. Play is usually over by 12:30pm.
